Aayirathil Oruvan Vs Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai For Pongal Race

2010 is gonna be the most happening year for Tamil film buffs as the very opening will have biggies clashing at box office. Yes, trade analysts have confirmed couple of Pongal releases – Aayirathil Oruvan and Vishal’s ‘Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai’.Both the films have been much making high waves in town with accordance to its unique traits. As well all know, Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is based on fantasy, action-adventure where audiences and professionals in showbiz will have to witness something new-fangled with it. Starring Karthi, Andrea and Reema Sen in lead roles, Parthiban takes on the role of a king of ancient century. Producers of this film have planned to launch the trailer by first week of December.On pars, Vishal’s ‘Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai’ may not be such a grandiloquent flick, but has something savoring flavors for youth cohorts. Just imagine the India’s happening hotties – Tanushree Dutta, Neethu Chandra and Miss India Sarah Jane striking on with their sensuously tremendous fiesta. Why delaying Aayirathil Oruvan?

Selvaraghavan is taking his own sweet time in completing his pet project Aayirathil Oruvan, which he hopes will be a cult hit in Indian cinema, just as the Indiana Jones series was in Hollywood. Aayirathil Oruvan has been in the making for nearly two years now, with periodic release rumours. Even recently, it was said that the movie was to be a 2009 Diwali [October 17th 2009] release, after missing its earlier announced release date of Independence Day [August 15th]!

Coming up in November is Children’s Day and since the movie fits in the action adventure genre,this would be a good date to release it. But will that happen? At this point, even Selva is not too sure, because the post production work is taking longer than he anticipated. Re-recording for the movie is on at a reputed studio in London while graphics work is happening in Mumbai. With still one-third of the work remaining, it appears the wait will continue till Pongal 2010 [January 14th] and it may release with Vettaikaran! With Selva, you never know!

Anaconda and more big creatures in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’

Maybe, many of our filmmakers had tried reinventing big wild creatures on the screens. It’s much illustrious with P. Vasu attempting on that with ‘Chandiramukhi’. But everything seemed to be an odd factor. But now, filmmaker Selvaraghavan has made a great effort to present the figure of ‘Anaconda’ in his upcoming project ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’.

As Shankar is using the technique of ‘Animatronics’ for ‘Endhiran’, Selva too has geared up using the same technology.

According to the film’s inner source, the film is about time travel from 2009-to-7th Century. Incisively, during that point of time, there were so many gigantic creatures as Dinosaurs and Anaconda. So, the technical crew has attempted for such an unique thing.
Let’s hope things would be finely done…

Selvaragavan - Sonia Agarwal file for divorce!

Now it is officially declared! It is none other than the news of Sonia Agarwal - Selvaragavan divorce. Both Sonia and Selvaragavan have filed their papers for divorce based on 'mutual consent' in the family court at Chennai Egmore court campus.

According to sources, the trouble began with the actress and singer Andrea's entry in Aayirathil Oruvan last year. Sonia alleged Selva that he was having an affair with the actress. Sources say that one day during the shooting of the film in Hyderabad, Sonia is reported to have barged into the sets and slapped Andrea in front of the crew.


Close friends and relatives, including Superstar Rajinikanth, tried to save the marriage, but it was too late as the relationship had hit a dead end. Sonia's re-entry as actress in TV shows and serials made the issue worse and forced them to live separately. Sonia was initially reluctant for a divorce, and tried for patch up. However finally she agreed for a 'divorce by mutual consent'.

Selva had first met Sonia in early 2002, when he signed her for his path breaking Kadhal Kondein, opposite his brother Dhanush. It was her debut film in Tamil and released on July 4, 2003 and went on to become a sensational super hit.

After nearly 4 years, both were married in style on December 15, 2006 at Rajah Muthiah Chettiyar Hall in Egmore, Chennai in the presence of 'Super star' Rajinikanth and attended by the who's who of Kollywood. Before getting married they were living together for nearly four years.
