Surya’s scenes deleted in Aadhavan, Vadivelu exults

Per chance, it’s time to sit back and worry down for Surya while for Vadivelu, it’s jumps for joy. The Diwali release ‘Aadhavan’ has fetched worst reviews in media channelsexcept those networks that have acquired the satellite rights.

Of course, you cannot stop the facts let straight from the shoulders of audiences, who’re spending a lot to watch the film. According to them, they’ve felt that the film is too lengthy in duration. With no options left in hand, K.S. Ravikumar had to depart his assistants to all theatres and analyze the audiences’ psychology and really they did witness the same feedbacks.

Now, the filmmaker has deleted 20mins from the original duration of 2 ½ hrs flick. He has clearly insisted his assistants that none of the sequences of Vadivelu should be deleted and only about Surya and other characters. It has been announced that even Surya’s introduction sequence ofplaying mouth organ has been deleted and every single unwanted shots of the actor and baddies have been lifted (as a matter of factor Surya’s fans themselves hadn’t liked the artificially choreographed stunt sequences in the assassination drama’.

So, if ardent buffs of Vadivelu were disappointed with his scenes having been deleted in ‘Kanthaswamy’, they can delight with ‘Aadhavan’.

Diwali 2009 – sent us off with a great disappointment with almost all the big tickets disappointing us badly.

Kollywood Today brings us some of the interesting (sometimes maybe funny) comments we heard during the screening of all these flicks, which hit screens for Diwali.

Aadhavan – Oops! We aren’t placing a rigid statement that those words from an unknown person had it’s impact on the film. But there were some vibrations emitted. There happens to be a famous saying – Govinda….. Govindaaa….h’ which means the mission is flunk. Naturally, we could hear the words uttered by the person right before the special screening of film on Diwali eve. There were certain words we could hear after the climax. But we are sorry about not bringing out those bad words, which may hurt us and well the film crew too. When Vadivelu emitted uttermost comedy, Surya too was applauded for having delivered the best rib-tickling comedy tracks. The spoof on stunt sequences from ‘Bourne Ultimatum’ and climax fight sequences inspired from Vijay’s ‘Villu’.

Peranmai – To be precise, the film had no such funny comments as Aadhavan had. Smashing down Roland Kickinger was an odd factor. But the rest was something perfect. In fact, the audiences were so attached to the film that they were tensed as couple of girls gets killed.

Jagan Mohini – The audiences were running out of theatres in the interval point itself.

Aadhavan Movie Review

Aadhavan the most expected movie of this season is finally out with more expectation. The movie is likely to be the hat trick hit for Actor Suriya but there is a question rising on our minds that this movie would be the stop for Surya’s hit list???

The movie story is all about a serial killer (Suriya) Gun Shooter who assigned to kill a magistrate (Murali) who yet to disclose the list of baddies involved in the illegal activities of transplanting the organs of poor children’s. Whether the serial killer accomplishes his task or whether he turns against the baddies forms the rest of the movie. Those who watched the Tamil movies often its easy to guess the remaining story as it script clearly evidenced in number of occasions in the Tamil cinemas previously.Actor Suriya with hits like “Vaaranam Aayiram” and “Ayan” looking to make an impact with B and C class audiences with Aadhavan but it fails in the end. Surya does his part well in the entire movie. Suriya is a director’s actor as whatever the situation compels for the movie he will do it perfect on screen. As a K.S.Ravikumar standards actor Suriya’s role can be said better than in this movie.

Hot Sexy Actress Nayanthara is shown in a new manner and avoided showing her skin more to survive on the top list of Kollywood but the time to admire youth has gone to some other new actresses. Vadivelu comedy track is giving hand to the script. Late Malayalam actor Murali last encounter turns to a memorable outing for him.

Music Composer Harris Jayaraj doesn’t give his best in Aadhavan as all the songs are repeatedly hear by Music lovers in his previous flicks. Actor Suriya costumes for songs shown his stylish looks but however tried to adopt similar dance steps in the entire songs. The movie is somewhat technically high but doesn’t help in for a lag script.

However, Aadhavan has the common commercial elements but up to an extent. With new decision made by producer’s council the cine lovers are compelled to watch any movies on theatres but spending your valuable bucks it will hurt while watching. As the movie is hit on all the big screens it will heap collections and also continuous promos on TV’s it will be a strong contender for other Diwali movies.

press-meet of Suriya’s latest flick Aadhavan was convened today at Hotel Green Park, Chennai. Suriya, KSR and Udhayanidhi were present and answered for posers. Suriya, in his address, hoped that the movie would appeal to audience from all quarters.

He also highlighted a few aspects of the movie, like his role as a 10-year old. “We contacted many professionals with the idea but had to put it away for either lack of resources or simply because it’s obscenely expensive,” he said. However, a Mumbai based visual graphic artist Govardhan came for their rescue soon enough. “The result was simply mind blowing and we got it done for much cheaper than the 4 crore budget we thought it would consume,” Suriya noted.

He also fondly remembered his association with Sarojadevi on the sets of Aadhavan. “She slapped me on my back one day and asked why I was selling her soap dishes (referring to the Pithamagan scene where Suriya is shown as a hawker). It’s amazing to note that she still watches the latest Tamil movies,” he added. Suriya also recalled how Sarojadevi used to correct Vadivelu’s intonation while singing old MGR songs that was required for a scene.

Aadhavan is a sure shot Deepavali release with Suriya and Nayan in the lead.

Will Nayan stop the success of Aadhavan?

This has been the most often question amongst the masses. Tamil film industry is much different from other regional ones. Know what? If Mumbaikars do watch the film for entertainment, our people are so adhered to the film stars and directors as they perceive them to be like their own family.

But when the same personalities are found to be involved in some ludicrous deeds, the masses would turn down and stop encouraging them.

Likely, Surya’s ‘Aadhavan’ seems to be drenched is similar problems as Nayanthara has paired up with him. The actress has involved in an affair with Prabhu Deva and this has really dropped down their likeliness on her.

Let’s wait and watch the results of ‘Aadhavan’. Even if the film goes with triumph at box office, Nayanthara will have no part in it.

Three Movies for Diwali 2009 Confirmed?

Earlier in a meeting Tamil Film Producers Council had taken decision to release top stars movies only in festival season reflects to halt many movies. Especially most awaited movie Ilayathalapathy Vijay “Vettaikaaran” was supposed to hit theatres on Diwali but owing to the decision of the Producers Coucil the movie postponed its release. More than these only three movies are going to hit theatres on this Deepavali season. The movies are Red Giant Movies Surya’s Aadhavan,Ayngaran International Jayam Ravi’s Peraanmai and at last Namitha’s Jaganmohini. There were plenty of movies queued for Diwali release but due to the new decision taken by Producers Council for earning more profits by releasing lesser number of movies in theatres. Only if producers produce quality movies it will earn profits these ideas look contemptible and hope soon the Tamil Film Producers Council will change its policy in releasing movies???

With Vettaikaran pulling out of the race, the expected contest between Suriya (Aadhavan) and Vijay has fizzled out. But the unexpected bonanza is the Namitha-starrer Jaganmohini among the three Deepavali releases (October 17). Peranmai, starring Jeyam Ravi in a totally unconventional role, could well emerge as the dark horse in this three-horse race.

Suriya fans will definitely have a great feast with Aadhavan releasing. For the first time, Suriya is paired with Nayantara, music is by Harris Jayaraj, and director K.S. Ravikumar is known for his high success rate. An indication of the star power and the brand name of the Production House (Red Giant Movies) is evident from the fact that the movie has been sold in all areas for a staggering price with nearly 300 prints worldwide.

A lot is riding on Namitha in Jaganmohini. Besides the fact of the actress badly needing a hit, the movie has been made on a lavish budget with special graphic effects. Director N.K. Vishwanath sounded confident that the movie would be a visual treat with the pulsating music of Ilayaraja to work in its favour.

Which movie will do better? Suriya's Aadhavan or Namitha's Jaganmohini? Or Peranmai, starring Jeyam Ravi? Only time can tell!

Kalaignar Vs Sun

The release of Aadhavan and Vettaikaran seems to have created a ‘clash of the titans’ scenario in Tamil Nadu. Aadhavan is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin for his Red Giant movies, the distribution rights of which are with Kalaignar TV.

Rightly so, Kalaignar TV is leaving no stones unturned in publicizing the movie and the promos have already gone on air. On the other hand, Vettaikaran, produced by AVM is sold to SUN TV.

Given the aggressive marketing strategies adopted by the SUN network in recent times to promote their movies, it’s easy to say that Vettaikaran will enjoy the same privilege.

However, SUN hasn’t started airing the promos as yet on air but it won’t be too long until the promos are on. Speaking of this, more than the performance of the movies at the box office, it would be interesting to watch the belligerent strategies adopted by two major television networks to promote their movies

Abirami Mega Mall’s newspaper ads appearing on August 28, have clearly indicated that both the biggies are going to be their –“Grand Diwali Attraction”.

A few days back, Vijay had said in an interview to a newspaper “Vettaikaran will release 100 percent on Diwali day 2009. It's racy entertainer which will be a treat to watch. The audio of the film which has music by Vijay Antony will release in the first week of September. My son Sanjay has danced with me for a song in the film."

Meanwhile K.S Ravikumar is going about the post production work of his Aadhavan at a rapid pace.

The film’s business deals are also happening, and most areas have been sold out. Added to that, theatres across Tamil Nadu are giving preference to the film as Suriya’s last release Ayan was a super hit.
