Yesteryears actress Sri Devi is making a comeback into films. She has accepted to don the role of a mother-in-law, in Dhanush starrer 'Maappilai'.The film happens to be launch pad for Sri Devi for her second innings in the film industry. This film is a remake of Superstar Rajnikanth's film with same title. Rajashekar directed the original version featuring Rajnikanth, Amala and Sri Vidya in lead roles.
Suraaj will be directing the current version.Hansika Motwani plays the female lead, while the sensuous Sri Devi will enact the role of her mom.The film will commence shooting from October and will hit the screens by April 14.
Many heroines after a long stint in films quit the scene after they tie the knot. But for some it is only for a short period.
