Abdul Kalam makes his debut in a film


Former President of India and the man who is lovingly named as 'Missile Man of India', Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is going to play himself in a Bollywood film. The film is titled as 'Mein Kalam Hoon', which also stars actors like Gulshan Grover, French actress Sophie Brosstel and a child actor from Rajsthan.

We saw actors playing role of President in films, but this will be for the first time that the real President is gone appear in the film.

However, The film is about a young boy's dream who gets inspired after watching a speech given by Kalam. The storyline of the films is same as what Dr. Kalam always say "Everyone is free to dream, so dream big."

Kalam shares the screen space with children. Madhav Pandeya directed the film, while SMILE Foundation produced it.

Talking about the film Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover said, "Abdul Kalam plays himself. The story, set in Rajasthan, is about a boy who is inspired by the former President and dares to dream big."

The child actor for the film is picked up from the slums of Rajsthan in the same style of Slumdog Millionaire. The makers wanted someone who has lived that life.They are training him to play the character.

The French actress plays a tourist in the film who comes to India in search of happiness and falls in love with Gulshan. The film is supposed to be premiered at various film festivals around the world including the most prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
