Actor Sudeep will be working in his third Hindi film after Phoonk and Rann. Rann is yet to be released, but director and producer Ram Gopal Varma is already taking up sequel to his mildly successful Phoonk which was a successful Horror-thriller flick. RGV has announced in a press meet recently that the sequel to Phoonk will be more realistic and natural and may well resemble the Korean and Japanese thrillers which focus mainly on realism and details.
Actor Sudeep is now in Malaysia and Singapore to shoot for some sequences for his forthcoming directorial venture Just Maath Maathnalli produced by Shankare Gowda. With the completion of this schedule, the entire shooting portions of the film will be completed. Already he has finished work for his another Kannada film Kichcha Huchcha directed by Actor Gurudatt. Later this month he will be joining the shooting of Phoonk II in Mumbai.
Earlier Sudeep had said that he will be happy to work in a sequel to Phoonk which got him lot of recognition as an actor. ‘Working in Rann that too with a legendary actor like Amithabh Bachchan was something that I had not even dreamt, but that did happen. And I had many sequences in the film with Big B about whom I had so much of reverence. It was a great learning experience for me. Technically I did learn a lot from RGV’s angles, but with Amit Ji I was able to understand how you could be effective even when you have no dialogues. Amit Ji would express only through his eyes’ says Sudeep.
RGV is just following the recent trend in Asian film industries mainly like the Japanese and Korean film industries where making sequels to a successful supernatural thrillers and achieving success out of it has become a fashion. The sequel Phoonk 2will start from where the original Phoonk had ended. . However the sequel to Phoonk will be directed by his associate Milind. “He worked with me in Phoonk and he wrote the script for this sequel. So I entrusted him the job of directing it too,” says Ram Gopal Varma.
Sudeep expresses happiness of having worked with Gurudatt for the second time in Kichcha Huchcha, a remake of Tamil Hit Chiththiram Pesudadi. Ramya is the heroine of this film which is produced by K. Manju.
