Singam's Realistic Set

Director Hari is busy shooting for Singam produced by Studio Green and starring Suriya and Anushka.The shooting has been taking place all over Chennai for the past few weeks. Talking to us Hari reveals an interesting incident that took place during one such shoot, “We had set up a police station set in Saligramam area in Chennai.The next day we found a huge group gathered on the road, looking completely puzzled. They were wondering how a new police station had come up overnight on that road since the set looked so realistic to them! Before they could decide to come in we explained to them it was just a set for a shooting and the crowds soon vanished.”Now that’s a touch or realism indeed!

Hari chooses Dhanush this time

it is not news anymore that director Hari is working on Singam that has Suriya in the lead. Meanwhile, he has also signed up his next venture that is slated to begin sometime in July, 2010. The film will be produced by B Bharathi Reddy on behalf of Vijaya Vauhini Studios.Director Hari had earlier teamed up with Vijaya Vauhini for Thamirabarani, in which Vishal had starred. For his next venture for the same studio he had chosen Dhanush to play the lead role. Interestingly, Dhanush had donned the greasepaint for Padikkathavan, which was also produced by Vijaya Vauhini. This is the first time that Hari and Dhanush would be working together.

Singam Ready For Second Schedule

Director Hari needs no introduction when it comes to punctualities. Much adhered to predesigned ground works, the filmmaker just completes the project much or before the assigned deadline. It has been more evident in the past and again with his present project ‘Singam’ starring Suriya-Anushka in lead roles.

The film started rolling with first schedule hitting the floors of Tuticorin and surrounding locales. The entire crew has left the down south with the completion and will kick-start with following schedule herein Chennai.According to the sources, the second schedule will start rolling after the three day FEFSI meet that will bring almost every film personalities of Tamil film industry together.‘Singam’ is produced by Studio Green in collaboration with Big Pictures. Suriya does the cop role with hottie Anushka starring opposite him in the female lead and Prakash Raj enacting a prominent character. Devi Sri Prasad has scored music for the film.

Director Hari car damaged by local youth

The shooting of the film Singam starring Surya and Anushka in the lead is progressing in Tamilnadu. A police station set was erected for the canning of some crucial scenes. While director Hari was filming a scene where anti social elements destroy the cars lined up at the sets he was shocked to find that his brand new car was also razed down.

According to sources, the director had his car in the line up and had instructed the artistes concerned to damage the dummy cars and leave the rest. However, when he decided to use some of the local youths for the scene, his assistants failed to give them proper instructions resulting in his car damage.

However, The director took it in the right spirit and continued with the shooting.

'Singam' First Look

August 30th the walls of the city were full with posters, that had a man whom we all know, in a different yet familiar look! Confused? We are talking about the new image of Suriya for his upcoming project ‘Singam’. What’s so different about Suriya’s looks is his mush - he is looking like a version of ‘Virumandi’ Kamal. And what’s so familiar about him is his Police getup! Yup! After appearing as a policeman from a city Suriya is seen holding a big ‘Aruva’ and giving a fierce look. The highlight of his make-over is the string of lemon and a flower garland worn around his neck, plus his face with a lot of kumkum and kaki uniform unbuttoned! Suriya started ‘Singam’ with Hari, one of his favourite directors in on August 23rd. Produced by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, the first schedule of the film has started in Kuttralam. Tollywood's hottest heroine Anushka is playing as Suriya's lead lady for the first time in this film. Check out these posters!
