Asal: The Power of Silence is a forthcoming Tamil feature film to be directed by Saran and produced by Prabhu Ganesan and Ramkumar Ganesan of Sivaji Productions. The film stars Ajith Kumar in dual roles, along with Prabhu, Sameera Reddy, Bhavana, Suresh, Rajiv Krishna and Suhasini Mani Ratnam to portray the film's lead roles. The film was launched in 8 April 2009, and the shooting for the film started in Malaysia on 18 June 2009. It will be the most expensive Ajith film ever made. The film has been slated to be released in January ,2010 in pongal season. And Audio will be released in December 15.

Sivaji Productions big budget action adventure Ajit’s Asal, directed by Saran has started its dubbing at Four Frames studio. Producer Ram Kumar wanted the dubbing for the film which is almost 90 percent complete to start on Wednesday (Nov 18), a very auspicious day.

The young guns in Sivaji Production producer Ram Kumar and his brother Prabhu’s children- Dushyant and Arjun are in charge of the entire production of Asal.

Says Ram Kumar: “These kids are doing great job, precise and professional, they have wrapped up almost the entire shoot on schedule. We are planning to release the film in January.”

Once the dubbing finishes, Saran plans to finish the shoot of two songs for the film one to be shot in a foreign location and the other on a set erected in a Chennai studio. It will be Ajit’s biggest ever movie.
