With Naga Chaitanya's 'Dhada' bombing at the BO, Nagarjuna has put his son's next action film 'Autonagar Surya' on the back burner
With his latest film " Dhada" turning out to be a box office dud, despite Naga Chaitanya donning a new action avatar, dad Nagarjuna has decided to step in. Even before the release of "Dhada", it was declared that Chaitanya will be doing two back-to-back films - "Bezawada Rowdeelu" directed by Vivek Krishna and produced by Ram Gopal Varma and " Autonagar Surya" directed by Deva Katta of "Prasthanam" fame. But not if daddy has his way.
Sources claim Nagarjuna has asked Dev Katta to "postpone" the action flick, "Autonagar Surya". Apparently, after the "Dhada" debacle, he doesn't want to give the green signal to another action film for his son. So, "Autonagar Surya", which was to hit the floors in October, is on the backburner for now.
And Deva Katta is an unhappy man, according to industrywallas, who are reading into the director's tweets a little too much. Deva recently posted online, "Make sure u don't run too long "behind" someone..... u'll end up a loser!", leaving everyone wondering if he was referring to this new development.
