Karthika made her debut as heroine in the film Thoothukudi. Her song Karuvapaya was popular in every nook and corner. She had also acted with Cheran in Raman Thediya Seethai.Vaideghi and Madurai Sambhavam in which she has acted is to be released on September 4th. She is happy that both the films are being released on the same day. She is also currently acting in Dhairiyam and 365 Kadhal Kadhaigal.
These films are being released by end of this year. She is a bit sad because she could not pair with popular heroes. She lost many offers because she refused to do glamour roles. While speaking about this she said,” I don’t feel it is right to release my two films on the same day.
But at the same time I am very happy that both of my films are being released on the same day. I am getting lot of offers to act in glamour roles. But I refused because my body shape wouldn’t be suitable for glamour dresses. I lost many film because refused to do glamour roles. I am donning the role of village girl in Vaidhegi and Madurai Sambhavam. I have got a meaty roles in both the films.”
